Olay Total Effects 7-in-1Anti-aging Foaming Cleanser Review

This is a holy grail product for me, and I have been using this for about  six months.  Somehow, the name “olay” evokes a sense of calm and mildness in itself and I just love their products. Few years ago, I came across an article in Femina, where Bollywood diva Rekha, mentioned the usage of  “oil of olay” as the secret to her beautiful skin.

The look: A thick creamy face wash, that is white in color.

The Smell: Very much Olay like, mild and soothing.

My Take: A very good face wash for all skin types 🙂 and I absolutely recommend it. I have been using this twice a day and it renders a scrupulously soft and glowing skin after each wash.  A very little amount works up a good amount of lather and it effectively removes all traces of make-up. It doesn’t dry out the skin and at the same time cleans the skin perfectly.

  1. suitable for all skins
  2. Moisturizing
  3. Doesn’t dry the skin
  4. Smells Good
  5. Removes make up
  6. Can be used all year round
  7. The skin feels taut and squeaky clean

  • I could not think of any.

Olay total-effects 7in1 Anti-Aging Night Cream Review

I was quite oblivious to night creams until last year, the thought occurred to use them regularly 🙂 , until then I was very happy with my Dermadew Caloe cream and used it regularly as a night cream. It is imperative to use night creams when one crosses the age of twenty-five, they hydrate and repair the skin the whole night through when the skin tries to replenish itself naturally. Hence, one wakes up to a new fresh face everyday and actually I have felt the difference.

The Look: A white creamy emulsion

The smell: Very mild, Olay kind.

My Take: I have using this past five months and I must say I am quite happy with it. The texture is light, non-greasy yet hydrating and replenishes the moisture lost during the day and the next morning my skin looks bright and smooth. Also, I feel my skin is smoother and has also reduced minor imperfections and pores to a great extent. I would not say that it makes one fair, but does brighten the complexion with long term use. The only con, I feel is that it doesn’t work on dark spots/ age spots. I have few small age spots around the eye area, but it has done nothing to reduce them. It should suit all skin types, it did not have any adverse reactions om my oily-combination skin, but oily skinned beauties need to be sure before usage.

To summarize, a decent night cream that delivers most of its claims. If one is not allergic to the ingredients, it is definitely worth a try.

Olay Total Effects Cream+Serum Duo SPF15 Review

The terms, Anti-aging, age reversal, look younger etc.. does arouse its due share of curiosity in us 🙂 After all, all of us aspire to look younger and beautiful. As in, a random comment,  “Oh! you look much younger your age” … is perceived as a compliment.

The giant in this sector of beauty market is Olay and I am here to review one of its recently launched products 🙂

The Look: Very creamy, thick emulsion, which is cream in color as well. The appearance from outside is as if the content is swirls of cream and white mousse.

The texture: Very light and moderately moisturizing. It should suit all skin types, my skin is combination to oily , but it didn’t make my skin feel greasy or break me out. I guess, in hot humid weather it might feel greasy or oily. So, people with oily skin should use it with care in summers.

The aroma: Nice, mild , Olay kind of 🙂

My thoughts : I have been using for the past twelve days, twice daily, once in the morning and at night. According to me it is moisturizing enough and gets absorbed into the skin effortlessly, to transform into a subtle glow. It gives a mild dewy look, which I like. It did not break me out or make me feel greasy.

It claims to work on seven signs of ageing like fine lines, uneven tone, age spots, uneven texture, dryness, dullness and pores. To scale it on the previous parameters, it relieves dryness, that is, it keeps the skin hydrated and also addresses dullness to a great extent. It moderately evens out the skin tone too. But, on age spots it didn’t have any effect. I have two very small age spots on my face, and I religiously monitored its effect on them, to find that they didn’t lighten. I don’t have any wrinkles, so its difficult to comment on this aspect.

Summary: So, overall a good cream which can be used as a day as well as night cream. It does keep the skin hydrated without making it greasy, but still, people with oily skin should use it with care. It also has SPF 15, which is a good aspect as well. The cons, it did not lighten age spots at all, but may be with continuous usage for about a month or two, they might lighten.

Also, any skincare item takes at least a month to show its effect, but I had to review it within a very short span. Hence, I may not be able to justify the product.
