Garnier Fructics Good Bye Damage Strenghtening Shampoo and Conditioner Review

Sorry for being MIA for quite some time ๐Ÿ™‚

Garnier has been in the news quite recently with quite a few new launches in shampoos and I feel they are quite good, better than the Sunsilk launches. I feel the Garnier Shampoos are gentle on the tresses and has emollient properties.

The Look: The shampoo has a thick, but runny consistency and the conditioner is creamy thick. They are both white in color.

The Smell: Both smell very nice , kind of fruity ๐Ÿ™‚

The Texture: The shampoo lathers luxuriantly and gently cleans the hair.ย  It shall suit all hair type and has moisturizing attributes. The conditioner, also soothes the hair and hydrates it effectively, reducing dryness and imparts a shine to the tresses. I use a hair straightener weekly once, and along with using this shampoo, I feel my hair is free from damage and dryness.

Summary: Over all , a good shampoo and a thumbs up from me ๐Ÿ™‚ . All the claims of repairing hair in three washes, doesn’t appeal to me and in no way I can prove it. But it is good and keeps the hair damage free :).

Price: Shampoo – INR 125 and Conditioner – INR 130

Reader Query: Suggestion for Dry Hair

I’m Supreethi, Iย  use to follow your blog from past few months back, its really great one for the ladies, Thanks for giving very good review of the products
I would like to take a suggestion from u for my long dry hair…. I tried shampoos & conditioners of different brands but no use. Could you please suggest me one good shampoo for making my dry hair to soft even hair oil also.
Looking forward for ur reply.
Supreethi Raja
First of all, I am a blogger and I hold no medical degree in dermatology ๐Ÿ™‚ , so, the suggestions would be very generic and you are to follow them at your discretion. So, apart from a protein and calcium rich diet, you need to drink lots of water and need to have clear bowel movements. Some tips are mentioned below:
  1. Bi- weekly oil massage with equal portions of warmed Almond Oil and Olive Oil is advised. The oil need not be kept over night and can be washed after four hours of application.
  2. Also, a hair pack made of Mashed Banana, Powdered Fenugreek and Olive Oil works wonder. This can be applied weekly
  3. Also, get hold of good professional shampoo and conditioner suited to dry hair along with a hair spa cream. I would recommend Javed Habib products or Loreal Professional Range.
  4. Also, a pack of Egg Yolk and Olive oil relieves hair dryness.

I hope you find the tips useful.

Schwarzkopf Professional Osis + Flatliner Heat Protectant Hair Spray Review

Well, I bought this along with my Phillips Straightening Iron that I acquired around four months back. This is the first heat protectant spray I am using and I am quite satisfied with the results. Before, I bought this I ironed my hair without any protectant and I felt it did damage it to some extent and so the difference after using this was quite obvious.

Also, I am not keeping well for past week and hence the slag in blogging pace ๐Ÿ˜ฆ .

The Look: It is a light liquid, which comes in a spray form in a metal bottle. The packaging is quite sturdy and easy to carry as it comes with a spray lock option.

My Take : I usually part my hair in sections and spray it along the hair shaft avoiding the roots and then start ironing my hair. The hair looks smooth, tangle free and much softer with its use. Also, the hair stays without freeze for longer time. The smell is quite funny and some of you may not like it, barring that it is a great heat protectant spray available in the Indian market. i bought it fromย  http://purplle.com/ on 15 percent discount. I am very much happy with the service provided by them.

Quick overview ( taken from purplle.com):

Give hair a boost of moisture and strength with hydrolised silk and wheat proteins.

Summary: The heat protectant effectively smoothes and protects the hair, without drying the hair out. Also, it keeps the straightening effect frizz free for a longer time. Overall, I happy with it and would recommend it to my readers. Also, it might weigh down oily hair , so I advice caution to people with oily hair before buying this.

Dabur Vatika Enriched Olive Hair Oil Review

I received this oil for review and I have been using this for about a month and half. The oil claims to contain olive oil, almond oil and aloevera.

The look: Light olive green colored

The Smell: Moderately strong herbal smell, which is somewhat sensitive to my nose. It might vary from one individual to another. One of my friend tried it and she said she likes the smell.

The Texture: It is much similar to olive oil in consistency and is a good treatment oil. I advise to keep it for a couple of hours and then shampoo it off.

My Take: The oil has a softening effect on the strands, and is very good for people with frizzy hair. It makes the hair manageable and visibly shiny. I have used it bi-weekly as a over night treatment and washed the hair off the next day. I have tested this oil on me and my friend , even she has the same feedback on it. The oil makes the hair manageable, soft and shiny. I could really feel the difference. The only con for me is the smell, it was bit strong for my liking and I hope Dabur could make it milder. As I said, my friend did not find the smell bothering. So, it may vary across individuals.

  1. Makes hair Shiny
  2. Makes hair soft
  3. A good treatment hair oil, better than many costlier options
  4. Also combats dryness.
  5. The hair becomes manageable
  6. I like it that it actually looks like olive oil and doesn’t have the light mineral oil like texture.

  1. The smell, but it might vary across individuals
  2. Has silicones
  3. Might not suit oily hair

Price: INR 110 for 200 ml

Summary: I recommend it ! Very nice hair oil. The oil is heavy,ย  so I advise to massage the hair with itย  and keep it overnight or for few hours and then wash it off.

Detailed Review : Love Long Hair Range

With all the curiosity still intact, I am set to write a detailed post and blind review of the “love long hair range” ๐Ÿ™‚ . The previous post links on this range are : link1 and link2. This shampoo was sent to me two weeks back for trial and review purpose.

The actual ingredients, brand name, product descriptions are completely not in my knowledge except the fact that it is from a reputed brand. This is for the first time I am involved in a unique blind review activity and I am loving the suspense all around.

The Product: A shampoo and a conditioner with no information about it except “love long hair range” ๐Ÿ™‚

The Look : The shampoo is a semi-runny thick liquid and the conditioner is quite thick in consistency and is also white in color.

The Smell: The products smell very feminine and the aroma lingers on for around 48 hours after shampooing.

My Take : I would say it renders a smooth and soft sheen to the tresses, and is a ideal shampoo for normal to dry hair. It has a soothing and nourishing effect on the hair and doesn’t strip the moisture out of them. It would be a great option for dry and damaged hair and hair that needs frequent cleansing.ย  It doesn’t blow up the hair, or lends a puffing up effect on the tresses and I like it for this very reason. It keeps the hair soft, glossy and manageable rather than make it appear like a bird’s nest :). Most shampoos blow up my hair and make it look like a nest, that why I mentioned ” bird’s nest” :). I would say both the products used in conjunction results in a glossy and nourished mane.

Also, once I used it after oiling my hair with olive oil, I felt it was rather mild on my hair and couldn’t cleanse the hair of the added oil. So, a good news for all of us, it is a mild shampoo and is not so harsh as to strip the hair of the moisture. In turn, it might not be quite as effective on oily hair.

Over all, I am impressed and a thumbs up from me. Highly recommended to people with normal to dry hair. It is not that ladies with oily hair cannot use it altogether, they can try it and see if it suits them.

I would not not summarize in a positive and negative aspects form as I do not know what the shampoo claims or what the ingredients are, rather I would put forward some key points on the overall deliverance of the shampoo.

  1. Moisturizing and nourishining
  2. Doesn’t strip the hair of moisture
  3. Added sheen to hair
  4. Makes the hair manageable and glossy
  5. Great for normal to dry hair
  6. Smells great that lingers on
  7. Not Great for thin hair as it doesn’t add too much volume
  8. Might not be that effective on very oily hair
  9. I am not quite sure of the lengthening effect, might be it would keep the hair nourished, which in turn would reduce damage/ split ends, resulting in a long mane.

I hope that the review is helpful and the identity of the product shall be revealed soon ๐Ÿ™‚ Till then, hold on the curiosity !
