Maybelline Colossal Kajal Review and Swatches

The Kajal that needs no introduction !

I love this kajal, the only Kajal in my stash as of now 🙂 you would be surprised to know ! I used MAC smolder before this and once I used the colossal kajal, I have been using this every single day I wear kajal 🙂

The Pigmentation: Very very intense and black 🙂 Very good quality and that too at a very low price tag .

The lasting: It lasts whole day on me without smudging , though the intensity fades with time but the difference is inconspicuous.

The texture and application: Very smooth and intense ! Though, there are feedbacks that it is hard and tugs the lid area .

My Take : As I said, I have been using this frequently and it is the only black kohl in my stash 🙂  I really like it and the intense, non-smudgy effect it gives to my eyes. Also , it can be used to line the lash line, waterline and create smudgy eye looks.  I use contact lens but this never irritated my eyes or had any side – effects . Over all a great kohl on budget.

Price: INR 150

Summary: Go grab it! A great kohl at a great price. Though there are better ones available in the market, this won’t disappoint you either.

Product Score: 4/5

Looks created with this kohl 🙂

Green and Brown Eye Make-up Look

Since summer is around, thought of doing a cool look 🙂 I have used a Kiwi Green shade from Coastal Scents to do this one. I have NYX blush “Mocha” on cheeks. This is my favorite blush these days, it suits the summer mood and instantly brightens up the face. I have reviewed it here. On face I have Mac Studio Fix Powder  over Garnier BB cream. The lipstick isColorbar Creme Touch range. “Burnt Orange“, applied lightly with a lip brush.

Eye Make up Products :

  1. Coastal Eye Shadow Kiwi Green
  2. A deep brown Eye Shadow from Essence Smokey Eyes Set “Punk Vibe
  3. A Green colored eye pencil on loweer lash line
  4. Mascara is one coat of Lakme Eyeconic Mascara followed by Essence multi-action mascara
  5. Maybelline colossal kajal

I hope you like the look 🙂 Do drop in your thoughts and suggestions.

Eye Makeup Look with Sleek “Bad girl” Palette and Tutorial

Nowadays I am very lazy to do tutorials and even blog ! The two hours in the afternoon, which is purely “Me” Time for me get used up by sleeping or reading books :). Yesterday I tried to overcome the inertia and do this look

Products Used:

  1. Garnier BB Cream
  2. Maybelline BB Stick all over the face as well as to prime the eyes
  3. Lakme Perfect Radiance Compact
  4. Jordana Blush in “Coral sandy Beach”
  5. Colorbar Creme Touch Lipstick “Burnt Orange” used as a stain
  6. Lakme Eyeconic Mascara
  7. Maybelline gel liner in “Black
  8. Sleek “Bad Girl” Palette reviewed here

Step by Step description to achieve the look :

  1. Prime the eye lids and apply a sweep of a light highlighting eye shadow all over the lid till the brow bone and blend. I used the shade ‘gullible” from Sleek Bad Girl Palette.
  2. Then apply the shade “abyss” in a ‘V’ shape from the middle to the outer corner of the eye socket. No blending now, we shall blend later.
  3. Now pat the shade “rebel” in the space in between the ‘V’ to the inner corner of the eye. Still, no blending 🙂
  4. Now start blending the the three eye shadows at the point where they meet, striking out any harsh lines. Also apply the shade “rebel” in the lower lashline
  5. Then line the water line with black khol, I used the black gel liner and also apply a very line, close to the lashes on the upper lashline.
  6. Finish off with mascara and just apply a hint of the shade “gullible” on the inner corners.

This is how the Look turned Up 🙂 I have applied a coral colored blush from Jordana called “Coral sandy Beach” and applied a light stain of a lipstick in Orange. Since the eye look is garish, I kept the lips really light and natural to avoid looking over made-up 🙂

Hope you like the effort 🙂 Do drop in suggestions and inputs, they help me improve !

Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner “Black” Review and Swatches

This is an established name when it comes to make-up and one can find infinite reviews of the same in the beauty domain. Still, this is my favorite liner, I just cannot do without it. This is a versatile, high precision product and can be used to line, tightline as well as a very good eye shadow base for black smokey eyes.

The Color: Stark Black

The Texture: Very smooth and soft, applies hassle free to give beautiful lined eyes.

The Pigmentation: Very black and intensely pigmented.

The Packaging: Very sturdy and easy to carry , but might break if dropped from a height. My tub was dropped twice, but it didn’t break 🙂 . Also, comes with a applicator brush which is very useful and I mostly apply using it , I couldn’t locate it while writing the review. Sorry for this 🙂

The Lasting: Lasts as long as eight hours on me, which according to me is very good 🙂 It does not budge at all, if applied over a primer. Without primer it tends to wear off after three hours on my oily lids.

My Experience: This is my multi-purpose liner, kajal, eye shadow base , a all in one product for me. I put it to good use, by using it to line my waterline, it doesn’t irritate the eyes at all. I wear contact lenses and can vouch it as safe for contact lens wearers too. When doing black smokey eyes, I use it as a all over lid base, and then blend it with a eye shadow, which make the look really intense. A great liner, especially if you are not comfortable with liquid liners. Gel liners tend to be more forgiving and ensure easy rectification of mis-application, if any :). It is smooth, smudge free, intensely pigmented and a great device to dress up your eyes with. If you love doing winged lined eyes or graphic eyes, this is a product one can vouch for 🙂

Price: INR 410

Summary: Highly Recommended ! Especially If you are in India, where there is dearth of good gel liners on budget. Great in all respect except that I feel it dries up soon in the tub, still it can be used with few drops of Inglot Duraline or keeping the tub inverted while storing.

Product Score: 4.5/5

I have used it in a lot of looks on my blog!

Maybelline Hyper Glossy Runway Pop Liquid Liner Review and Swatches ; Shade “Tangerine Orange”

Maybelline has been quite a name in the beauty blogosphere in recent times, attributed to its launch of  new and innovative products back to back.  It has carved a niche for itself in the drugstore arena, making affordable cosmetics available to the masses without compromising on quality. The youngest baby on the block is this hyper glossy pop liquid liner, one can already fathom its capabilities from the name itself.

Guess ! shocking color , high shine ! Be assured of being the center of attraction !

I wore this today afternoon, and even met few of my friends and neighbors  and you know?? all of them were asking whats on my eyes ! Moreover I had my spectacles on, and my friends told, that the color is peering through them BOLD !

The shade: Tangerine Orange, true to its nomenclature. Very bright and pop summery orange. It definitely requires some thought and effort to carry. Ideal for wear to parties , or if you want to mimic a bohemian look. A color apt to suit fun infused environment.

The Finish: Hyper glossy, metallic orange ! This one is bound to make one the center of attraction, by dint of its shocking color and finish. So, all those who are open to experiment , do try this out. It shall not let you down. I am loving this.

The texture and pigmentation: It is very much pigmented, but applies a little streaky. One needs to build it up to intensity with repeated coatings.

The lasting: It lasted for full seven hours on me, on primed eye lids, it did not swerve at all. Without primer , it wears off easily on my oily eye lids. So if you have oily lids, you ought to prime before putting this on. I swatched it on my hands without primer, and it did not budge. So, I guess beauties with dry eyelids, can try wearing it without primer and expect it to last.

The packaging: It comes packed in a very small conical bottle , and the applicator is thin and easy to apply. But as with all liquid liners, it does need some practice for perfect application.

To sum up the positive and negative aspects :

Positives :

  1. Lovely , bold color, unleashes the rebel in you !
  2. Great pigmentation
  3. Love the glossy finish
  4. Lasts really long on primed eyes
  5. Great color for experimentation, first of its kind shade in India.
  6. Would suit a wide variety of complexions
  7. Great liner for those who wear spectacles

  1. Applies streaky, but it can be managed with multiple coatings
  2. Eyelids need priming, especially if they are oily

Price: INR 350

Summary: A bright and bold color, unleashes the rebel in you ! Very unique and offbeat shade 🙂 I am loving it and some looks with it are lurking in my mind. Yes, it does need due juxtaposition of thoughtful effort and hard work to rock this shade :). I guess one should go and get it .

Product Score: 4/5

Green and Orange Eye Makeup Look With Maybelline Color Tatto Fierce and Tangy

Just a random look 🙂 The chores of motherhood has induced short term amnesia in me and I seem to be quite forgetful of what lies in my stash 🙂 . This lack of attention has been borne by my dear Maybelline Color tattoo in “Fierce and Tangy”.

This palette had been left unbought and waiting in my lust list for long, until Agnibanya of http://agnibanya.blogspot.in/ , told me that she plans to place an order with Sleekmakeup.com, in a jiffy I joined in :). Yes, I absolutely do not regret this hasty decision of mine ! I also ordered two of their blushes, which I would review on the coming days.

The shades : A palette comprising of, twelve eye shadows fit for doing smokey eye looks and two excellent highlighting shades.

The texture and pigmentation: Amazing pigmentation and color depth , soft and hassle free. They are easy to pat and blend. Most of the eye shadows are metallic finish which shimmers.

The lasting: Lasts long upto four hours without primer, do I need to explain more?

The packaging: Come in a sleek palette, which is sturdy and travel friendly but the brush that comes with it is pretty useless.

My experience: Yes , I would buy it again and again, if it gets over. One stop for all intense, smokey eye looks. The shade selection comprises of deep blues, purples and deep jungle greens, though some shades look similar. It has a jet bllack eye shadow called “Noir” , which is really black and very versatile , long lasting as well. So those who are in the quest for deep black Eye shadows, do keep this in mind.

The colors can be mixed and matched to create a lot of looks. I am totally satisfied and its indeed value for money. If you get a chance to share the shipping costs with someone, do plunge in.
