The Mac Retro Matte Collection was launched last year and it has been a year that I have been lusting for this particular shade. It appeals to me the most from this range and ever since I bought it , I have been wearing it almost every single day ! Yes, every day !
To wear this, I stopped wearing warmer hued clothes, for it has cool tones and for the last two months, since I bought it, I have been wearing dresses of colors that look good with this lipstick 🙂
Now to say, after Mac Ruby Woo, a retro matte … this is my second love …
Only swatch for now … I hope to review it soon 🙂
Until Next Time 🙂 Take care !
I have reviewed another color from thus range earlier and both the lipsticks have similar properties. To read the review of the other shade click HERE .
The Shade: A Plum Berry Shade . The bullet appears like Mac “Rebel” but it is much lighter and less intense than Rebel, the finish is stark matte that makes it a very pretty color to adorn 🙂
The Texture and smell: Very soft and easy gliding unlike most drugstore matte lipsticks. The lips look soft and feel feather light. Also, it does not settle in the fine lines of the lips. The smell is not much appealing and might seem like crayons. I do not find it bothersome though as it disappears after some time.
The Lasting: It lasts without fading for about four hours without any easting or drinking in between, if applied on its own with any prior lip priming.
The Pigmentation: Impeccable! It applies opaque in a single swipe.
I have only Mac Studio fix over sunscreen on my face.
Summary: One of the best matte lipsticks out there, that too at a price which is very less for its texture and finish. The only con is its availability.
Price: INR 2.95 Euros
Product Score: 4.5/5, it appears much costly than it actually is 🙂
This lipstick is a part of the Pink Alert Range launched by Maybelline last month prior to Women’s Day. An instant hit in the beauty bazaar owing to shades suited to all complexions and affordable price.
The Color: A cool toned fuchsia pink with blue undertones, a flattering shade for fair complexions. It looks neonish on my warm complexion and doesn’t really flatter me, when worn all by itself. I have to make it work actually 🙂 . Go, for it if you have pale complexion and it would look really nice on you.
The texture: Smooth and hydrating and looks glossy on the lips
The pigmentation: It is not opaque and requires layering up , so I would suggest people with lip pigmentation to use a lip pencil beneath.
The lasting: It lasts for unto three hours without any eating or drinking in between.
My Take: A beautiful blue based pink for fair complexions. Do look out for it if you want a great pink lipstick on budget. If you are warn toned , I would suggest shades POW 2 or POW 4 from this range. I recommend it !
Price: INR 375 only
Product Score: 4/5

The Shade: A lovely muted Fuchsia with plum undertones, great to wear underneath Pink, Berry, Fuchsia lipsticks .
Summary: Very Good and the only con is the availability.

Product Score: 4/5
