Few days ago, I posted on how to apply lipstick properly here:http://celebratingfeminity.com/2013/01/06/how-to-apply-lipstick-properly-mac-ruby-woo/. Those who have read that post might know that the first step to achieve a beautiful pout is to prime them or prepare them for the color to to be applied. Not all of us have perfect, spotless lips, hence to cover this up the usage of a nude lip liner becomes essential.
Today I am reviewing the “Nude Pink”, a lip liner from Colorbar 🙂
The Shade: A nude pink shade with neutral undertones.
The Texture: Optimum combination of hardness and softness, in the sense it applied neat and smooth without being too soft so as to break.
The Pigmentation: Very Good.
My Take: The color is a very much muted, nude pink with enough opacity to cover pigmentation, if any and provide a base for lipstick. One can use this to modify the shape of their lips. if required. I usually use this when I have ample time to prepare my lips and then apply color. On daily basis, I just apply the lipstick and move out 🙂 except reds, when I do make a point to fill out my lips before applying lipstick, A must have color, it could dual up as a lip base too. Also, a great shade to pair with heavy black or deep brown smokey eyes. One con , I feel is it could be drying on lips, so I advise the usage of lip balm underneath.
Price: INR 325
Summary: Worth buying, if you require a nude lip liner, this be it 🙂 Leaving the dryness factor, I find no cons.
Product Score: 4/5
Faces is a well acclaimed Canadian brand which makes really good stuffs, on budget ! They also have a wide range of skin care cosmetics. Recently, I got one lip liner and a body wash from them. Those who are in Bangalore, can find exclusive Faces store at Phoenix Market City Mall. Today, I shall review the lip liner.
Lip liners allow precise application of lipsticks and help them last longer.
The shade: A true red
The pigmentation: Good! Comparable to Colorbar lip liners. One stroke is enough to give color.
The Lasting: It last for four hours on the lips and then gradually fades away. Makes red lipsticks last long and prevents them from bleeding.
My take: I am happy with this. It is easily sharpenable and glides on smoothly. I usually use it alone or under my favourite red lipsticks. Do try them out ! You shall like them. I would have preferred it in the retractable form though, its a personal choice.

I like to create various lip combos, to try and experiment with colors and textures and achieve a whole new look. I love red lipsticks and this is a look I created with my favorite lipstick Mac Ruby Woo.
Lip liner: Brown , I used Tips and Toes lipliner “Coffee brown”
Lipstick: Red, I used Mac “Ruby Woo”
Lip gloss: Sheer Brown , I used Maybelline watershine ” Choc Choc”
I lined my lips with a brown lip liner, this actually intensifies the red of “Ruby Woo”, then topped it with a single coat of the red lipstick, and finished off with a golden brown sheer gloss.

So, I thought of pairing a light pink lip liner, with a bright magenta pink lipstick, topped with a light pink lip gloss . I used a pale pink liner from “P2” cosmetics, the lipstick is Colorbar “Oh my Magenta” reviewed here :http://celebratingfeminity.com/2012/04/27/colorbar-velvet-matte-lipstick-in-oh-my-magenta/ and the lip gloss is Revlon Colorburst “Iced Cofee”, reviewed here: http://celebratingfeminity.com/2012/08/22/revlon-colorburst-lipgloss-in-iced-coffee-swatch-and-review/
First , I applied the lip liner and used it to completely fill up my lips, Followed by a bright magenta pink lipstick on top and then added a light layer of a light pink lip gloss. I absolutely love this combination, do try this out.
