MAC Retro Matte Lipstick “Flat Out Fabulous” Swatch

The Mac Retro Matte Collection was launched last year and it has been a year that I have been lusting for this particular shade. It appeals to me the most from this range and ever since I bought it , I have been wearing it almost every single day ! Yes, every day !

To wear this,  I stopped wearing warmer hued clothes, for it has cool tones and for  the last two months, since I bought it, I have been wearing dresses of colors that look good with this lipstick 🙂

Now to say, after Mac Ruby Woo, a retro matte … this is my second love …

Only swatch for now …  I hope to review it soon 🙂

Loreal Moist Matte Lipstick “Spring Rosette” Review and Swatches

These lipsticks were launched as a part of the Cannes Collection earlier this year. The range has a whole plethora of shades to suit most complexions. The shade “Lincoln Rose” was supposedly worn by Aishwarya Rai at her red carpet appearances to the film festival. The lipsticks are enclosed in side a rose gold outer case , which make them look elegant and rich and one can own at least one from this range.

The Color: A very beautiful shade of cool  pink with coral undertones. It looks more pink on me though. The color would  flatter fair to wheatish complexions with aplomb and might run the risk of looking neon on duskier skins.

The Texture: Ultra light, silky  and smooth, and can be worn without  any lip balm at times. It doesn’t accentuate the fine lines of the lips, but I would advice proper exfoliation if you have chapped and dry lips. It has better texture than MAC retro-matte lipsticks.

The Pigmentation: Whoa! one swipe and you are done 🙂 , too much building up can make this particular shade appear cakey.

The Lasting: Very good, without fading for four hours and even after that you have a conspicuous amount of color left.

  1. Long lasting
  2. Superior pigmentation
  3. Smooth texture
  4. Non- drying
  5. silky finish

Cons:

  1. The bullet is soft and it is better to store it in fridge, if the weather is hot to avoid melting/ breakage
  2. Might be Expensive.

P2 Cosmetics Matte Deluxe Lipstick “I Adore You” Review

I have reviewed another color from thus range earlier and both the lipsticks have similar properties. To read the review of the other shade click HERE .

The Shade: A Plum Berry Shade . The bullet appears like Mac “Rebel” but it is much lighter and less intense than Rebel, the finish is stark matte that makes it a very pretty color to adorn 🙂

The Texture and smell: Very soft and easy gliding unlike most drugstore matte lipsticks. The lips look soft and feel feather light. Also, it does not settle in the fine lines of the lips. The smell is not much appealing and might seem like crayons. I do not find it bothersome though as it disappears after some time.

The Lasting: It lasts without fading for about four hours without any easting or drinking in between, if applied on its own with any prior lip priming.

The Pigmentation: Impeccable! It applies opaque in a single swipe.

I have only Mac Studio fix over sunscreen on my face.

Summary: One of the best matte lipsticks out there, that too at a price which is very less for its texture and finish. The only con is its availability.

Price: INR 2.95 Euros

Product Score: 4.5/5, it appears much costly than it actually is 🙂

P2 Cosmetics Matte Deluxe Lipstick “I Kiss you” Review

So, P2 cosmetics is a makeup brand from Germany, which offers quality on reasonable rates. The lipstick I am reviewing has an impeccable texture and finish at a surprisingly low price.

The Shade: A bright tomato red. The bullet appears like Mac “Ruby Woo” but it is a lighter red leaning towards orange.

Maybelline Color Sensational Bold Matte Lipstick Mat3 Review, Swatches and Look

The launch pictures of this range left me drooling and very impatient to try these out. The shade which I got for review is “MAT 3”. All the more I was more excited to do a cool, neon look with it 🙂 . I paired this shade with a lime green top and “rose gold” eyes.

The Shade: The bullet looks a bold neon orange which mellows down to a wearable orange with little red tones on my lips. Impeccably flatters my NC 42 skin tone without washing me out 🙂 This shall look good on fair to medium skin tones.

The pigmentation: I would say it is not opaque and one needs to apply it in layers to cover lip pigmentation. According to me people with very much pigmented lips should steer clear from this shade.

The texture: Very light and weightless on lips. It is moisturizing and is not stark matte , as I thought it would be. It doesn’t pull or tug the lips and is not drying .

The lasting: Lasts effortlessly for four hours without a meal and fades to a light stain. I am impressed on this aspect of this lipstick 🙂

My Take: ” A Neon Orange which is wearable and flatters my Indian complexion ”

It is a great shade and those who are out on the hunt for a suitable orange, this might be a  stopover. It felt light and weightless and my lips did not require any moisturization before its application. Also, It lasted easily for four hours and I am really happy with this.

The only ouch factor, is its pigmentation. As it is a matte lipstick, I expected it to go opaque in single swipe covering all pigmentation, but it does not. So, I would not recommend it to people with pigmented lips, who require more coverage.

To sum up…………………

Pros:

  1. Very nice color for the  Indian complexion
  2. Not drying
  3. Decent lasting power
  4. Soft and smooth texture

Cons:

  1. Average pigmentation
  2. Might settle on the fine lines

This is the complete look 🙂
