Chicco BabyMoments Rich Cream Review

Chicco is a well known name in the world of baby care and I am a avid lover of products from this brand. I use their body lotion, cream and baby wash for my son and it has always made me and my kid happy 🙂 . I would suggest this brand to all mothers to use it for their little angels.

The Look : A very thick cream which requires some effort to blend in.

The Smell: Very very mild.

My Take: Impeccable ! Highly Recommended for use on younger kids, especially newborns. The cream is highly moisturizing and stays on the skin for the whole day. It can be used as a facial cream or as a body cream, in case of severe dry skin conditions. It did not have any adverse reactions on my son’s skin and we are happy with it. Also, it can be used by adults who have dry skin, it would definitely alleviate the dryness.

Neutrogena UltraSheer Dry Touch Sunblock SPF50+ Review

A great sunscreen! A potion that works ! Oh, I am smitten over ………..yes , finally a sunscreen that I look forward to stick on to 🙂

The Look : A thick white cream, which spreads and blends into the skin with ease.

The Texture: Though it is thick , it blends into the skin effortlessly  revealing a glowing facial skin. Yes, it does impart a shine to the skin on application, which I like. The skin appears to glow from within and , it doesn’t look like a white cast.

The Smell: Very mild floral smell.

My Take: Finally I found a sunscreen that works on my skin. It protects the skin from tanning and the result is miraculous. I have been wearing it to my swimming exercise for over 15 days and I could actually see the difference.  To put it to test, I went with bare face for two days and was badly tanned, which made me realize that it was the sunscreen that prevented my skin from being tanned. It did not have any adverse reactions on my skin and makes the skin feel light and easy. Also, it is water proof and is ideal for sweaty summers and for beach vacations, it would act like a protective shield against tanning.

Highly Recommended ! Protects the skin from harmful rays of the sun.  This would suit all skin types, though oily skin types might find their skin more shiny after its usage.

Lotus Basiltone Clarifying and Balancing Toner Review

Toners and their importance in skincare ? Actually, they help maintaining the pH balance of skin, put back lost moisture during cleansing and also tighten the pores. Their role in skincare is not be undermined and hence they form the basics of the regular Cleansing, Toning and Moisturizing (CTM) routine.

The product : I am reviewing today is the Basiltone Toner from Lotus Herbals, that claims to have extracts of cucumber and basil, which helps to clarify and balance the skin. It is suited to combination – oily skin types.

The Look: A light green colored watery liquid

The Smell: Not irksome, it is very mild and fresh

The Packaging: Travel Friendly and has a spray pump with a outer cover.

My Take: Okay, I Finished my second bottle already 🙂 . It appears natural and has a mild cleansing effect on the skin. This has a clarifying and balancing effect on the skin and the skin feels clean and soothed at the end of the day. Also, it seems to be devoid of artificial colorants and aromatic stuffs. Absolutely suited for combination to oily skin types and is alcohol free, I recommend its usage at least once. A thumbs Up from me 🙂

Olay total-effects 7in1 Anti-Aging Night Cream Review

I was quite oblivious to night creams until last year, the thought occurred to use them regularly 🙂 , until then I was very happy with my Dermadew Caloe cream and used it regularly as a night cream. It is imperative to use night creams when one crosses the age of twenty-five, they hydrate and repair the skin the whole night through when the skin tries to replenish itself naturally. Hence, one wakes up to a new fresh face everyday and actually I have felt the difference.

The Look: A white creamy emulsion

The smell: Very mild, Olay kind.

My Take: I have using this past five months and I must say I am quite happy with it. The texture is light, non-greasy yet hydrating and replenishes the moisture lost during the day and the next morning my skin looks bright and smooth. Also, I feel my skin is smoother and has also reduced minor imperfections and pores to a great extent. I would not say that it makes one fair, but does brighten the complexion with long term use. The only con, I feel is that it doesn’t work on dark spots/ age spots. I have few small age spots around the eye area, but it has done nothing to reduce them. It should suit all skin types, it did not have any adverse reactions om my oily-combination skin, but oily skinned beauties need to be sure before usage.

To summarize, a decent night cream that delivers most of its claims. If one is not allergic to the ingredients, it is definitely worth a try.

Balea Urea Hand Creme Review

Balea is a German brand and offers great products that are affordable too. The product I am reviewing today is a hand cream which does its job really well.

The Smell: Very mild almost unnoticeable.

The Look: A thick creamy consistency which spreads and disappears easily into the skin.

My Take: The hand Cream contains Urea, which is an intensive moisturizer and helps restore moisture balance in the skin. I remember, my mother used to use a Urea based face cream when I was a child. Also urea moisturizes the nails and makes them smooth and strong. The moisturizing effect is quite long and one doesn’t feel the urge to moisturize for up to four hours in winter season. The main drawback is the availability and if you get the chance to travel to Germany or have someone there, do get a couple of these. They last really long and little goes a long way. I wish we has such good hand cremes in India 😦

Price: Less than 1 Euro

Auravedic Ritual Skin Lightening Mask Review

You saw me reviewing another product from this brand here , and today, I find the leisure to review one of their facial masks. The skin lightening mask claims to have lightening effect on the whole visage and also on concentrated dark spots.

The Look : Looks like mustard paste 🙂 yellow with some brown bits all over. It is because of the turmeric in its content.

The Smell: Smells like a herbal mixture of oil, turmeric and clay. It doesn’t bother me, but it might to those who have sensitive nose.

The Texture: Very sticky and oily and it is very difficult to apply with our fingers 🙂 yes , it requires some effort to spread it all over the face. I do not mind it as I am very happy with the results.

My Take: It does really make the skin glow after its use and it feels smoother than before. Overall, the experience is unlike those face packs, which you expect to dry out with time after application. It doesn’t dry on your face and doesn’t even pull or tug your skin. So, I keep it for about twenty minutes and then wash it off. It feels very wet on the face and heavy too. I shall recommend it to dry skinned ladies, as it shall not have a drying effect on the skin due to its oily nature.  It did not have the miraculous effects of lightening the skin or spots, but it does lend some glow to it and overall the skin looks bright. Moreover, it can be applied daily without the risk of over drying the skin.

It has to be applied on cleansed face. The ingredient list comprises of natural and plant extracts.

Price: INR 200 for 50 gms

Product Score: 3.5/5

Summary:  It does brighten the skin to a great extent and the skin feels smooth after application. A decent face pack that did not have adverse reactions on my skin.It might feel sticky and oily on oily skin types.

The Body Shop Body Butter Duo Sweet Pea Review

I am on my second tub of this body butter and love it to core.

The look : It has two compartments, the content on one is light pink in color that is meant for normal skin and the other is little bit darker than the previous one , meant for dry skin.

The texture: The cream for dry skin is much thicker than the one for normal skin and hence more moisturizing on skin.

The smell : Very light, lingering and feminine .

My take: Highly recommended for dry skins, it is moisturizing and the effect lasts for one whole day. Moreover the smell has light floral notes which seem to linger on and make you feel feminine. It can be used by all skin types as a winter body balm.

Lakme Deep Pore Cleansing Milk Review

Does this image evoke the nostalgia in you ?

It did for me , when I saw it perched on the Heath and Glow counter, at an instant, reminiscence of my childhood stood before me. Do I sound melodramatic? 😛 Well, then I was engrossed in deep nostalgia.

When I was a girl, about 10 years old, the earliest I can remember 🙂 I saw my mother using it daily in the morning and evening. Also, she used it on me occasionally to clean my neck and shoulders 🙂 pouring a significant amount on a large cotton wool . So, the whole memory came alive for a moment.  The packaging of the product was different then, a plain white bottle with a deep green cover, which even smelt different than what how it is now.

So, nostalgia relieved and I bought it !

The Look: A plain runny white liquid cleansing lotion

The smell: Nice and mild.

Usage: I usually massage it all over my face and wipe it off with a damp cotton wool then wash my face with plain water.

My take: An effective cleansing milk that suits my oily-combination skin without leaving me in breakouts. That is quite a surprise in deed. Ideally takes off dust, grime and make-up at the end of the day.  Also, takes off mascara which is not waterproof, but doesn’t remove long staying kohl. Well, I am very much happy with its performance, for long staying kohls and eye-makeup, I have make-up remover. The skin feels clean , refreshed and is ready for toning and moisturizing, before you wind up for the day.

Price: INR 120, I think.

Summary: Over all, a great cleanser for normal to dry skins. But to mention, it works wonderfully on my oily-combination skin too. Very cheap and affordable.

Product Score: 4/5

Auravedic Pure De-Stressing Moisturizing Lotion Review

Auravedic is a botanical brand thats specializes in making cosmetics devoid of harmful chemicals like SLS, Colors, Parabens etc. This lotion claims to fight environmental aggressions on skin, energizing it and thereby having an anti-aging effect on it.  Also, it claims to be rich in anti-oxidants and boost skin’s moisture levels by replenishing oil and water simultaneously.

Usage:  Gently massage on face and neck until completely absorbed. Use 2 -3 times daily.

Ingredients: Kokum Butter, Mango butter, beeswax, sunflower, aloevera, ylang ylang oil, orange oil, nutmeg oil, jojoba oil, olivem 1000, oilwax, purified water and phenoxyethanol.

Packaging: Comes in a plastic bottle with pump dispenser

My Take: I have combination-oily skin , and have been using this lotion in the morning and evening since past two months. It is an excellent hydrating agent, it replenishes the lost moisture in the skin effectively without clogging the pores. So, good news for people with oily skin who are on the look out for a good moisturizer. It does soothe and de-stress the skin. Also, it did not have any allergic reactions or cause any acne outburst on me.To summarize a good lotion for oily skin and it doesn’t break the skin out or clog the pores. I would not recommend it to dry skinned ladies though, normal skinned beauties can use is as a moisturizer during the summer season.

  1. hydrates and soothes
  2. De-stresses
  3. Doesn’t break the skin out
  4. Didn’t have any allergic reactions
  5. No harmful chemicals

  1. Not sure about anti-aging effects
  2. Not suitable for dry skin
